O.P. DWIVEDI AWARD 2022

FOR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC POLICY IN THE WORLD




2022 O.P. Dwivedi Awardee H.E. Khalid Safir.
Following a call for nominations and a process managed by the Dwivedi Award Selection Committee, the Board of Management endorsed the recommendation of that committee to give the O.P. Dwivedi Award to H.E. Khalid Safir as a recognition for his contribution to the advancement of public administration in the world.

Born in 1967 in Settat, 85 km from Casablanca, Mr. Khalid Safir graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique de Paris in 1991. Two years later, he worked at the Moroccan Ministry of Equipment as head of the financial management division of the port of Casablanca. In 1995, Safir joined the Ministry of Finance as a research officer before becoming a director in the same department in 1998.

Safir began his professional career in 2004 as Director of Modernization of Resources and Information Systems at the General Treasury. In 2006, He was appointed Governor of Casablanca’s al Fida-Mers Sultan Prefecture, then of Casablanca-Anfa Prefecture in 2009.

From 2011 to 2013, Safir held the position of Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In October 2013, King Mohammed VI appointed Safir as the Wali of the Casablanca Region and Governor of the Casablanca Prefecture. Safir was then made Governor of the Casablanca-Settat Region and Governor of the Casablanca Prefecture in 2015.

Khalid Safir was appointed by King Mohammed VI on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, as general director of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG).
